The one that won 3rd place - 11.08.2022

Gdyński Modernizm

Gdynia is a city located to the north of Gdańsk. During the interwar period, it was situated in the Polish Corridor and experienced rapid expansion, especially in conjunction with its port development. This expansion led to the construction of numerous buildings featuring modernistic architecture, many of which incorporate elements reminiscent of ships.

The one that did not win 3rd place - 09.08.2022

Thanks to its unique architectural charm, I've always found Gdynia more appealing than its more famous neighbours (and it's also the Polish capital for sailing ;) ). When I discovered a local photo contest focused on Gdynian modernism, I decided to apply without hesitation.

I took a few photos, though I wasn't entirely convinced of their quality at first, until I stumbled upon my neighbours passing something over one of the most iconic balconies (the top photo, in case you're still wondering). This particular photo ended up taking third place in the contest. However, there are more photos that I captured for the contest, and while they may not be as exceptional, they're still worth sharing. I'm posting them here for those who are genuinely interested to take a look.

P.S. I missed the application deadline this year but will plan to apply next year.

More to come...
